One Planet International School's 2018 Career Day was a resounding success -- an event which was truly educational and inspiring to students and parents alike.


One Planet International School is centered around the notion of service, and that is what the Career Day was all about. Our goal for the event was to expose our students to as many service based careers as possible, as well as give them an opportunity to initiate meaningful conversations with their parents about their contribution to society will be!

Over 40 professional parents in a diverse array of fields inspired our students by setting up a simulated work environment at the school.

Some of the areas included:

• Lawyers operating a mock trial, to show the students a glimpse of what it is like to go to court and analyze the verdict
• Heart and plastic surgeons demonstrating a variety of skills from routine check-ups to stitches
• An architectural area in which students built their own model houses
• Film producers who wrote a script for the children and involved them in the shooting and production of a movie
• Three captains from Ethiopian Airlines who fly planes all around the world
• Diplomats and other government officials
• Anthropologists from Addis Ababa University
• Geneticists, electrical, civil, mechanical and software engineers, artists, business men and women, and much, much more!
