Population: Based on 2012 (EFY) figures from the Central Statistical Agency (CSA) of Ethiopia, the Oromiyaa Region has an estimated total population of 38,170,034 consisting of 14,974,817 male and 14,762,554 female. 87.8% of the population is estimated to be rural inhabitants, while 12.2% are urban dwellers(CSA 2017). Area: An estimated area of 284,537.84 square kilometers, this region has an estimated density of 104.5 people per square kilometer.
